Free product roadmap template
A ready-to-edit roadmap structure — phases, epics and user stories already laid out, so you can replace the placeholders with your own plan and share it in minutes. Free, private, and no signup required.
Most “free roadmap templates” are a spreadsheet you have to wrestle into shape or a slide you cannot easily keep up to date. This one is different: it is a live, editable roadmap you fill in directly in your browser, and it exports cleanly when you are ready to share.
What the template includes
- A north-star goal and product summary to anchor the plan.
- Time-based phases (e.g. Foundation → Growth → Monetization → Scale) with themes and targets.
- Epics under each phase, each with a clear goal.
- User stories in the proven “As a user, I want…, so that…” format.
- A priority matrix to sequence what matters first.
What the structure looks like
Phase 1: Foundation → Epic 1.1: Onboarding & core value → Story 1.1.1: As a new user, I want a fast setup, so that I reach value immediately.
Every level is editable — double-click any title or description to change it, drag to reorder, and add your own phases, epics and stories. The visual view is built for presenting; the Markdown view is built for documents and version control.

Use the template — freeNo signup · No tracking · Export to PDF, Markdown or JIRA
How to use it
- Open MapMyRoad and start a new project (the sample roadmap loads as your starting template).
- Rename the phases to match your strategy and set each one’s theme and timeframe.
- Fill in epics and user stories — double-click to edit any text inline.
- Prioritize using the matrix, then review the top-level view as your executives will see it.
- Export and share — a PDF for the boardroom, Markdown for your docs, or a JIRA CSV for delivery.
Why product managers like it
- Private by design. Your roadmap lives in your browser and never leaves it until you export — so early strategy cannot leak.
- Executive-ready. The high-level phase view is made to present, not to overwhelm.
- No lock-in. Export to open formats (PDF, Markdown) or push straight into JIRA whenever you want.
